Elves Wanted!

The Coasters once again have been asked if we would help in assembling a few hundred new bikes that will be given to kids for Christmas. The bikes will be given away as part of the Wichita Dream Center’s Christmas For Wichita.

When: This Saturday, December 10th at 8:00am and Sunday 1:00pm till whenever.
Where: Believers Tabernacle Church 2000 S. Hillside (S/E corner of Mt Vernon & Hillside).

You don’t need to be mechanically inclined to volunteer. In addition to assembling bikes, help will also be needed in unboxing them, disposing of boxes etc…
It might be a good idea to bring a few tools of your own.

From what I’ve heard this is a fun time and you leave with a warm fuzzy feeling.

The bikes will be given away at Century II on Saturday the 17th which you are invited to attend..

Thank you!

Sunday Ride In Delano

What: ride in Historic Delano and tour historic homes decorated for the holidays.
When: Sunday, December 4th at 2:00pm.
Where: meet at Club Billards 925 W Douglas 2:00pm.

Yeah it’s gonna be cold. So what. This is Kansas. If you sit around the house waiting for perfect weather you’d never leave ;-)

This can be your warm up ride for the Christmas Lights Cruise.

Don’t forget that Christmas In Delano is Saturday. Details here.

RatRodBikes.com Auction Bike Ride

From Udall Custom Bikes…

I decided to give all the local members who helped with Auction Bike a chance to see the finished bike and give it a test ride so we can have some opinions other than mine on how it turned out.
If any one else would care to join us we are meeting at Exploration Place in Wichita Saturday 11/26 at 11am.
We will snap some pics and then go for a ride along the river. Bring a bike and a coat and see what you will be bidding on.
Auction begins December 1 at 12:01am CST and will run for 5 days and will end at 11:59pm CST. There will be a thread posted in the “Bike Talk” forum to host the Auction Action.

Hope to see you guys there.

Wichita Bicycle Master Plan Team Hits The Streets

From the City Of Wichita website…

The Wichita Bicycle Master Plan consultants recently had a great opportunity to see the fall colors in Wichita, as they traveled more than 1,200 miles collecting data about the Study Network roadways. The roadways were identified during the planning process as potential locations for future bicycle facilities. The data they collected includes width measurements, number of lanes, parking configuration and other information. This information will be used to help to create the Draft Bikeway Network, a recommendation for a feasible network of bicycle facilities that serves all parts of the City. Look for more information about the Draft Bikeway Network this spring.
