Just wanted to thank all you great Coasters folks and all other out of towners for attending the Pedal Party in Partridge! Your participation in the parade, the show and jousting, as well as at the food booth gives us a boost of positive energy for next year. The Hobkirk family were the first winners of the coveted Partridge Pedal Party Cup (the Stanley Cup is kinda like it) for their years of building new contraptions and bikes, always being there with plenty of enthusiasm. The PPP cup is a traveling award, to be given up to the next deserving winner next year. Once again, our sincere thanks for sharing the fun and supporting our efforts! We hope to see you all again soon. Jay & Lisa Yoder

A few Coasters attended the Tour De Fat in Ft Collins, Colorado over the weekend. An estimated 15,000 other cyclists joined them. Photos and videos of the event here.
A few Coasters made the trip to Kansas City for the 10th annual El Torreon Swap Meet this past Sunday.

Big thanks to those Coasters who brought their classic bikes out to the Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society‘s first Julyapalooza. Also on display were antique motorcycles and cars.
Thanks to Randy’s Mom, Cameron E and Dave M for the photos.
10th annual El Torreon Bicycle Swap Meet
Sunday, July 25, 2010
6:00am – 4:00pm
31st & Gillham, Kansas City. MO
Julyapalooza is an event being put on by the Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society on Saturday, July 10th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at 1203 N. Main (right on the Midtown bike path). We’ve been asked to display our vintage bicycles along side vintage cars and motorcycles. There will also be a genealogy book and materials sale, tours of their library, a hot dog vendor and hourly drawings.
This event is for antique bikes only. I need to know in advance if you are participating. Only bikes that are 60s vintage or older, restored, original (or as close to original that the general public wouldn’t know the difference). The bikes will be displayed outside and yes it will probably be hot. I’ll provide shade and cold drinks. You may also just drop your bike(s) off and go hide somewhere cool. We do need a couple people to stay and answer questions. This event will give us a chance to spread bicycle love to a new audience, presumably those interested in history.
Let me know if you would like to participate and I’ll fill you in on the details.
This was the I Bike Douglass event. Article features, Erick, Steve, Devin and Dan.
