Despite the gloomy weather, wind and the temperature in the low 40s it was a great parade with a huge turn out. Due to the large number of bikes participating and so many spectators crowding the street it made it impossible to ride in circles as we have done in the past. After the parade we all rode over to the Shamrock for their post parade party which included Irish stew and green beer and as always was a good time. Later in the day bicycles were scattered all around the Delano distinct at the various eating establishments.

For the 4th year we will participate in the Historic Delano District's St Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 13th. The parade starts at noon. Please be at the staging area in the Metropolitan Baptist Church/Lawrence Dumont Stadium parking lots no later than 11:30am.

As is our tradition we'll follow up the parade with a pub Pedal.

In order to continue to be asked to participate in this great parade please adhere to the following...
You must decorate your bike and/or yourself in a St Patrick's Day/Irish theme.
No fast or trick riding allowed!
Do not throw candy or gifts. You can hand these things out.

This was our 3rd year participating in the Historic Delano District St Patrick's Parade. The weather was ideal, the parade was fun and the post parade party at the Shamrock a good time. There was an estimated 60-70 bikes that participated. Photos from the days events here.

Saturday, March 14. The parade starts a 12:00pm (noon). Same route and routine as last year. Its free for us to enter the parade but the Historic Delano committee does encourage donations to help cover their expenses, so if everybody would kick in a buck or 2 that would be great. We'll collect donations that morning. We should meet at the church/Lawrence Dumont parking lot about 11:00 to 11:30. Wacky and Green is the theme as normal for this parade. Post Parade Pub Pedal to follow beginning at the Shamrock.
