From the Community Affairs Lieutenant with the Wichita Police Department...

We have scheduled a public comment session regarding the proposed bicycle ordinance revisions and amendments and I wanted to let you know about it. It is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Water Center, 101 W. Pawnee. Representatives from the Planning, Law and Police Departments will be there to answer questions and take comments regarding the proposed revisions.

Sometime later this week the proposed ordinances and current state law will be noted on the front page of the WPD’s web site at www.wichitapolice.com along with a notice regarding the public comment session.

The Ride of Silence. The ride is sponsored by the Oz Bicycle Club of Wichita. The ride will start at 7:00 PM on May 19th at 13213 W. 21st St N. Ct (Wichita Clinic) just East of Eberly Farm on West 21st. The names of those injured or killed will be remembered at this time. If you know of someone whose name was not mentioned, please let us know at this time. The ride will start after the reading. Please park at the South end of the parking lot.
