Wichita's Arkansas River Path was recently resurfaced making for a very nice, smooth ride.

Wichita and Derby have been chosen by the Kansas Department Of Transportation to receive funding for bike/pedestrian trails. In Wichita it will be the development of the Redbud Trail.

From what I have read Robert Hughes (aka Bicycle Bob) was riding his bike early Saturday morning on East Central when he was struck by a truck. The truck fled the the scene. The owner of the truck was later found and arrested. Mr Huges is in critical condition and being treated at Wesley Medical Center.

Today the Wichita city council approved changes to the current bicycle ordinance.
Unless there is a usable bicycle path next to the street, cyclists can now ride in the streeet no longer having to be within 5 feet of the curb. Eliminated from the ordinance was being required to license a bicycle and use a bike rack if one is available within a city block.
