Don't miss out on this fun event. You don't need anything fancy to race. Just something that will roll down hill. A wagon or even your bike. Hope to see everyone there. Bring food!
Finally a decent Saturday to get out and ride. It was beautiful! Randy and his dad worked on their gravity racer all day. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 18.
PLEASE DO A BRAKE AND WHEEL CHECK BEFORE LAUNCHING!
Hey,
Are we going to get a few hay bales for the end of the run? I just got a look at my "X" project today in the rain. I should have it ready by Saturday. WICKED....lol.
I should be there, Hopefully my contraption the "rust rocket" will be completed in time, off to the garage for another thrash session!!!
My monster trike is almost complete. Might be late, but save a spot for me!
Ohhh... Picked up the Gravity Rod tonight...and my dads old helmet...
Can't wait...
Paint??? who needs paint! but wait... will it make you go faster??? lol
Oh....I'm going to miss it this year....for those of you on the fench about going....go ! We had a great time last year acting like...kids. It is also fun to see "bike" people outside of Douglas!!! Be safe I recommend steel toed boots!
Peace, Stephanie
Mitch... paint helps with error-dynamics... and intimidation...lol.
I'm bringing hay bales, picked them up this morning. I will find some cones to put along the bad part of the track along the bottom. It would be nice if anyone has a 4 wheeler (motorized) that could be used to pull the cars up the hill. I will also paint a finish line across the track. Any suggestions ?
Ring of fire maybe...
Better bring your A- game... My ride is... well... my ride... Fear the Gravity Rod...
Im still thrashin, still dont have no stinkin steering or brakes! But I hope to soon otherwise im a spectator!!!
What do you need food wise? I hope im still not thrashin the morning of the race, If I can get er done in time Ill also be bringing something to eat. I might bring my little grill and make some killer beans and taters.
Talking to people at the Shamrock tonight it sounds like it will be a good turn out.
Someone may be bringing something to tow the racers up the hill. As for food anything is fine. So far I've heard there will be fried chicken, pasta salad and sandwiches of some sort.
My mom is bringing some sort of Taco Salad and I think we are bringing some sort of cookie... and some flat black racing action to dish out...
11 hours to go and I think Im done. Got steering, Got brakes... kinda. Hope I dont have to "test" the hay bales!
See you all in the morning. |

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any photos from before the turn of the century of any Wichita bicycle clubs and i
n particular of any bicycle repair shops. Our house (which is now the Delano Bed and Breakfast) was built by Morris Scho
llenberger who was one of three brothers who owned the Schollenberger & Co. bicycle repair shop located at 230 N Main in
Wichita. The brothers closed the [...]
