Bicycles At The Ballfield And Craft Beer

Yesterday we attended the Bicycles At The Ballfield show and swap in the near-by town of Augusta, KS. I believe this was the 3rd year for the event but our first time attending. We didn’t have anything to show or swap so we just checked out all the cool bikes, bought a painting and chatted with friends. Later in the day while riding in the big city we bumped in to some bike riding friends and had beverages at a couple of the city’s newest breweries.

Buddy’s Pedal Fest 2016

This past weekend we drove to Pleasant Hill, Missouri to attend Buddy’s Pedal Fest which is a bike show, swap and ride along with a bbq and this year live music. This is our 3rd time attending the event and we always have a great time.

The video is from the ride following the show and swap…

This weekend we took a road trip to Belton Missouri to attend Buddy”s Bike Show which is part of Belton”s fall festival. This bike show is put on by friends of ours in memory of a friend of theirs Buddy Bronson. It was a great show and a fun time. I even brought home a trophy. For all of the photos click here.

Sunday’s Show And Ride

This past Sunday I attended the PorkChoppd Custom Bicycles 2nd anniversary party. The party included a bike show and a ride among other things. We set a record high temperature of 102 during the show and our ride was in 26mph winds. I still had a nice time though hanging with the area bike folk.

I’ve all but given up trying to photograph whole bikes in a show like this. I find it very difficult to get good shots. This one will give you some idea of what the show looked like.

Here are a few photos from the ride.

PorkChoppd

No that’s not a typo in the title. PorkChoppd Custom Bicycles is the name of a LBS here that deals in cruisers, bmx and custom bicycles. Yesterday they celebrated their one year anniversary with a bike show and ride which I attended.
I took many photos of the event. Below are just a few. You can view them all here.

Bikes & Bugs

Our bicycle club was asked to display bikes at yesterday’s 3rd annual Bug-O-Rama VW car show. I brought out 4 kustom bikes to show. We had a good turn-out of bikes and good time.

Bikes At Starbird Devlin Show

Today I went back to the car show taking the 2 Grand-Sons. Blake never met a car he didn’t like. Ethan’s favorite was a Lamborghini.

Video I took of just some of the bikes…

Ride And Show

The other night I put the new wheels I built on the Monark Mutt. This morning I went for a 20 degree ride to test them out. They ride fine.

This afternoon my Dad and I went to the Starbird Devlin Rod & Custom show where our bike club has bikes on display. I don”t have any bikes in the show as I was mostly too lazy I guess to get my bikes ready and entered. I”ve always enjoyed this show (formerly the Daryl Starbird Rod & Custom Show) and would go with my parents when I was a kid. Here is just a small sample of cars and motorcycles at the show. I”ll have bike photos later.

Partridge Pedal Party

Yesterday we took an hours drive to the small town of Partridge Kansas to attend their fall festival which is centered around bicycles. The town is really small (pop 250 or so) and the Main street which the parade takes place on is dirt.
After the festival we met another couple in the near-by town of Hutchinson where we ate, unloaded the bikes and rode around.

Just some of the bikes waiting for parade to start.

Nova on one of many of theses trikes there to ride.

At the Amtrak station in Hutchinson.

Art Of The Bicycle

Last night we attended our club’s 7th annual Art Of The Bicycle Show and the World’s Largest Bike Ride. It was a great show and good time.
