Weekend Recap

Saturday Nova and I went for a rural ride on what I call the 2 Bridges Loop. It’s approximately a 26 mile ride, nearly all gravel and crosses the Ninnescah river 2 times. It was miserably humid.

A brief stop to explore an abandoned mobile home.
The view from one of the bridges.
The view from the other bridge. The water a little too deep to make a Geocouch score.

Sunday was the Bluz Cruz, our monthly old bikes ride. This month I was hosting. It was raining. Nova and I were secretly hoping no one would show but 2 others braved the rain and came out. The starting point I chose gave us a couple of route options. I chose the route that runs under the highway so we would be somewhat protected from the rain. Once we reached the end of the sheltered portion of the path it was just sprinkling so we decided to push our luck and ride farther. Shortly after the rain really started to come down. We got soaked but it was still an enjoyable ride. Along the way we made a brief stop at the memorial of the 1965 crash site of a KC-135 tanker that took the lives of all seven crew members, twenty-three people on the ground and destroyed several homes.

  1. NIce shots of some nice riding that you do. As we are in NC right now, I know all about that miserable humidity! Heading home to Seattle though will bring us to poor air quality due to smoke from many fires! Can’t seem to win. Hoping to be riding again soon — travel puts a bit of a crimp in that activity. Thanks for sharing your outings.
