Our 8th Midwest Bicycle Swapmeet

This past Sunday was the 8th annual Midwest Bicycle Swapmeet here in town. The night prior we did our usual “garage ride” where we ride to ours and a couple other’s garages to socialize, look at and talk bikes. This year before the ride started we had a potluck dinner at the park. A pretty good turn-out and a lot of food.

I made a vegan jambalaya for the potluck dinner.

Swap day was a beautiful day for a change. The weather the last couple of years haven’t been so great. We had a good turn-out.
I sold 3 bikes (2 grandkids and the Bike OF Frankenstein) a few parts and various bike related t-shirts I’d collected but never wore.

Below is some of what I brought home. A couple things were given to me, a few things I bought and others (including the cantilever Schwinn) came from the free pile.
In addition to the above I also brought home a couple kickstands, bells a fork and couple junk frames to hack up.

A few photos of the swap.

    1. Yes it’s kind of overwhelming. So much to look at. Always the next day I wish I’d bought something I’d seen or looked closer for something specific.
